Un attributo della codifica specifica la codifica preferita da usare. Un metodo dell'uscita del HTML dovrebbe aggiungere l'elemento del META subito dopo di una avvi-modifica dell'elemento CAPO che specifica la codifica del carattere che deve realmente essere usata.
