Behind the scene an "ISA" application creates the RDF file with lot of RDF
pointers.
A D V E R T I S E M E N T
It creates an RDF pointer to the file with an information about the person,
RDF pointer to the information about a Volvo and the Volvo models, an RDF pointer to
the Volvo dealers and the resellers, about the parts, about the prices, and many more.
RDF pointer is a pointer (actually an URL) to the information about the things
(like the knowledge database). The beauty about this is that we do not have to
describe ourself, nor the car model. An RDF application will sort it out for you.
Will this work by itself?
An semantic web will not work all by itself. It needs some help
to become reality.
It is not very likely that we will be able to sell our car just by putting
the RDF file on Internet.
It can be eBay, might be Microsoft, might be Google, or someone else.
But someone will have to.
Soon we will see the marketplaces based on the RDF. And one day we will be able to
collect the information about almost everything on web in the standardized RDF
format.
It may not be free. we may have to pay for the information, or at least
for selling the products.
Publishing an information about things on Internet will be much easier than
before. Maybe the RSS language will be a solution to some of these problems.
