What is VICAR ?

VICAR (Video Image Communication and Retrieval) is a collection of image processing programs supported by the Multimission Image Processing Laboratory (MIPL) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), for use in manipulating and analyzing spacecraft images. The image format used by VICAR programs, and for all or most data from JPL-managed missions, is referred to as VICAR format.
