W3C looks to make mobile Web browsing easier
Added 30 Jul 2008
The Mobile Web Best Practices document was generated as a result of the efforts of the W3C's Mobile Web Initiative. Using the document, Web developers will be able to use a standard method by which to create websites that work with mobile devices. The “best practices” document includes methods to avoid inconveniences when browsing the Internet on a mobile device such as pop-ups and page-scrolling.
Considering the number of cellphones, smartphones, and PDAs that are capable of browsing the Internet, it is time for a standard way of creating Web pages for mobile devices. The explosive growth means that the W3C is working to catch up to push forward its initiative of making browsing on a mobile device as easy as it is on the desktop.
